Steve Francis
Motor Racing and Motoring Art
Steve Francis was born in London in 1954. His interest in cars started at a young age when he was given a Scalextric set for Christmas(a hobby that continues to this day) and trips to Brands Hatch Boxing Day meetings. An interest in art soon followed. He continued to study art until he left school to take up a position in a busy photographic studio and also pursue another interest, playing drums. A career as a professional model maker followed and at this time was able to concentrate on his art. In 2002 he was accepted to the Guild of Motoring Artists and has submitted work for their various exhibitions. Recent commissions have included front covers for books about model car racing and a number of paintings for charity.
