Bob and Charlyne Steinkamp met and married in the sixties in Pompano Beach, Florida where Charlyne still lives today, after Bob went home to be with the Lord in 2010. They are the parents of three children and the grandparents of seven, all living locally. Previously, Bob was a funeral director and Charlyne had a successful career in medical office administration.

In 1977 Mike and Marilyn's marriage was in deep trouble. Things had not been good in their marriage for a number of years, but now they had reached crisis point. Mike had met someone else and was divorcing Marilyn to marry the other woman. Marilyn was pregnant with their third child.Every counselor that spoke with them, including their pastor, agreed that there was no hope for reconciliation of the marriage. People in the Church told Marilyn that since Mike had committed adultery, she was free to divorce and remarry. But the Lord had other plans.
