Assessment
The Avon school district is taking part in the Race to the Top Program, and as such will need to implement a new evaluation system next year. To prepare our district for the rquirements of these new evaluations, I was charged, along with administration, with finding a way of assessing student growth from Pre-K through 12th grade. Along with administration, I interviewed and evaluated several testing companies, including NWEA, Gallileo, STAR Enterprises and Dora & Doma. We presented the findings of our evaluation to the teaching staff. I developed an evaluation tool/grid for the team to use throughout the research process.
Achievement Gap
I led the initiative to research some of the reasons that our African American male students are not demonstrating the same level of growth as other subgroups. insert research report here.
Technology
The Data Team also investigated new technologies that the district might consider implementing in the future. I attended the MassCue Technology Conference at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, October 26th along with our district administration. I created a report of the conference for both the superintendent and the teaching staff of my school and presented this at a staff meeting.insert the report here.
