The Student Public Relations Association (SPRA) is a student-run, student-led group. The purpose of SPRA is to raise awareness of the multidimensional uses of public relations within diverse majors.
Also, the organization works to educate both individuals and other organizations about the advantages of effective public relations.
Members of the SPRA at William Paterson University share and build professional skills by creating and implementing real PR campaigns and have the opportunity to network with working PR professionals.
The SPRA helps different clubs and organizations by guiding them in how to promote events effectively. Toys for tots and the Special Olympics of New Jersey are a few organizations that the SPRA has helped in the past.
The mission is to serve the WPU community by forming mutual beneficial relationships with campus groups. The Association creates public relations programs for select causes and issues of interest to the university’s students, faculty and staff.
Members meet every Tuesday in Hobart Hall room 142 during common hour.
1). To help members have a greater knowledge and appreciation of the public relations field among those who practice public relations and those among the general public.

3). To help members obtain greater professional skills.
4). To bring together the WPU community whom are interested in the public relations field.

SPRA is open to all members of the William Paterson University Student Government Association, hereafter referred to as WPUNJ SGA.
An active member must attend three consecutive meetings in a month. A voting member must have active member status in order to vote.
The governing body of SPRA shall be known as the Executive Board.

Every semester the SPRA publishes a newsletter, the Pioneer PR Report, which is produced by members of the Student Public Relations Association at William Paterson University. Articles are based on a selected theme along with the members’ interests. The newsletter aims to share PR knowledge and resources with the WPU community.
