A Little Bit About Amy:Hi everyone! My name is Amy. I am currently a communications major at Franciscan University and really excited to be a part of the Spiritual Fire Wire (SFW). Since I’m going to be part of SFW I think it is important that you know a little bit about me and what I like to do. Well, for starters I hail from Port Angeles, WA, I have a few brothers and a few more sisters, and I love to play guitar! I have several little quirks but my favorite is that I write with my left hand. Also high on my list of things I like are movies, Star Wars, Tangled, Lion King, and Miss Congeniality being some of my favorites. As for TV shows I don’t watch many but the one I enjoy the most is Doctor Who. Sports-wise I enjoy Ultimate Frisbee and Basketball as well as rolling around on a pair of skates or a scooter. I was raised in Savannah, Ga and I transferred to Steubenville after attending Valdosta State University for two years. My favorite sports are Hockey, Rugby, and volleyball. My idea of partying is dancing with friends and having a good time…sober (yes its possible, try it sometime). I grew up in a small town and was very athletic. I played hockey, soccer, softball, and basketball. I still today play hockey and soccer as much as I can and have actually broken school and state records for soccer! In high school, I was also in the band and played the French Horn. Some of my favorite movies include: Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Proposal, Crazy Stupid Love (and any movie with Steve Carrell), any movie with Adam Sandler, and many many others. I am from California; however, I am currently a junior at Franciscan University of Steubenville. My dream is to travel the world. Saint Of The Week: Saint Monica

She is the patron of wives and abuse victims. St. Monica was married by arrangement to a pagan official in North Africa, who was much older than she, and although generous, was also violent tempered. She had three children; Augustine, Navigius, and Perpetua. Through her patience and prayers, she was able to convert her husband and his mother to the Catholic faith in 370. St. Monica died in 387, on the way back to Africa from Rome in the Italian town of Ostia.
