Love is a Poverty You Can Sell
is coming to the Toronto Fringe!
This summer, enter the world of a 1920 s Berlin cabaret and enjoy a night of song, story, and sin. This special theatrical tribute to legendary composer Kurt Weill includes musical selections from his best known works such as 'The Threepenny Opera', 'The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny', and 'Street Scene', as well as numbers from shows shaped by Weill's legacy, such as 'Sweeney Todd', 'Cabaret', 'Chicago', and 'The Black Rider' - all accompanied by a ten piece orchestra.
Directed by Sarah Thorpe, hosted by emcees Hans and Jodel, and boasting a cast that includes actors, classically trained singers, rock songstresses, drag performers, Fringe veterans, and other bohemian riff raff, Love is a Poverty You Can Sell will be an evening to remember.
