D. Jackson was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. While growing up, his early influences of music came from his grandfather who was a gospel composer. He began singing during his grade school years in a choir that taught black history through song and dance.
D. Jackson began writing songs at the age of 12. After graduating from middle school, he enrolled in a college course at a community college in Cleveland for recording arts. This is where he learned how to record and produce songs in a recording studio. Throughout his high school career he gained a fan base by recording songs and passing CD's out at school.
After graduating from High School, he enrolled in Bethune Cookman University where he is now pursuing a degree in Music Technology. He excels in genres such as R&B, Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, as well as anything else he can get his hands on. D. Jackson has been recording and writing songs that many people have grown to love.
In July of 2010, he released his first mixtape titled "Different Galaxy" which has done acceptionally well according to his peers. Soon following "Different Galaxy" D. Jackson released an E.P. titled "BedRoom Melodies", which opened the door for his debut album entitled "Room 222". "Room 222" will be relased and available on iTunes on February 22nd (2-22) which is subsequently his birthday.
