Carlos Carter was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica, West Indies. He spent 13 years on the island before he and his family migrated to the United States. He became involved in the leadership of the church and the community. Carlos became the president of Young Men for Christ and managed a few dance groups which led to his designing outfits for these groups. He got an opportunity to showcase his fashion ideas while putting on fund raisers for the groups.He was inspired to design after much consideration of the working class men and women who are confined to a conservative wardrobe. Carlos believes that it is possible to maintain a conservative outlook, but with a "sporty and risqué twist". Thus the birth of C Carter Designs. Dissatisfied with the quality of work produced by some photographers, Carlos has now stepped behind the lens. He has recently expanded his growing empire by launching a photography company named Somatic Photography by Alphanso which specializes in fashion, and scenic images.
