Alison Solomon is one of the most complete, productive artists I know.
Her passion for the arts distinguishes her from many. Since she was a little girl she immersed herself and strived in so many disciplines that her path couldn't lead her to a better place than the arts. Dancing, acting, and singing are among some of her favorite disciplines but she doesnt stop there. Her capability and method make Ali Solomon one of the best assistants a creator can have.
Ali has mastered Jazz, Musical Theater and Lyrical dance with an ease, she Taps, Salsas and gets down like very few can. She moves her hips as if she was born in the Caribbean but commits to her waltz as the humble Long Island girl that she is.
As a leader Ali offers one of the most dynamic ways of guiding people to a mission; as an Assistant Choreographer she makes it simple for both the cast and the choreographer by bringing great energy and clarity into the room.
As an artist Ali pours her heart into every single step and becomes so tall in her dancing that my eye often just follows the story that she is telling with clarity and devotion.
Ali has graced the stages of Lincoln Center , Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, and the Kennedy Center to name a few. She has assisted choreographer Luis Salgado ( In the Heights) on several projects and has spent many hours in the studio with Tony Award winning choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler . She has also assisted choreographers Marcos Santana (In the Heights, White Noise), Josh Bergasse ("Smash"), and Josh Prince (Shrek). Ali recently made her television debut on the new HBO series "Boardwalk Empire" directed by Martin Scorsese . When she is not on stage, Ali volunteers and is the Co-Executive Director for R.Evolucion Latina, a collective of artists and activists committed to empowering the artistic community in order to inspire growth within the Latino Community through collaboration, productions, and educational support programs.
