Music can often be audio documentation of our culture. From tribal drums to Hip Hop to Salsa, people have always created rythms and sounds to express their joys, sorrows, and overall experience. The Global Hood Music Series aims to provide a stage for artists working to combine their cultures traditional music with modern styles and technology to usher in a global sound revolution. Artists all around the world are fusing a variety of traditional and contemporary sounds creating an
inter-generational, audio documentation of the continuous development and change of their cultures.
The Global Hood Music Series has hosted several Grammy nominees including Latin Grammy winners Bomba Estereo and Ana Tijoux as well as international sensations Chico Mann, Zuzuka Poderosa,
Los Rakas, Blitz the Ambassador, and Mexicans With Guns.

uranderismo Workshop
Exploring the forgotten ways of native healers, the Curanderismo Series features community elders and indigenous healers from all over the country discussing the healing qualities of foods, herbs, and other
homeopathic remedies. Sol Collective will also be sending a team out to the Feria de Salud traditional Mexican healing fair at the University of New Mexico this summer to participate in one of the countrys largest Curanderismo gatherings.

iberation Permaculture
Sol Collective plays host to Liberation Permaculture group meetings once a month where the group discuss topics surrounding the creation and maintenance of eco-friendly, sustainable living. Topics include urban gardening, gleaning, solar cooking methods, and development of several community garden locations.
Sol Collective and Liberation Permaculture have also started a community seed bank where residents are supplied with organic plant seeds free of charge.
