Brigid Strait was born in Minneapolis, accidentally, and the rest of the story continues in the same vein. Her happy childhood gave her false expectations for the rest of life and an appreciation for treehouses, foreign languages, and John Wayne.
She was a nomadic, imaginative, mischievous child who was too smart for her britches. So, naturally, she was writing stories and leading peasant uprisings by the age of eight.
She hasn't improved.
