CatTracks
Plan-it Forward Advisory Program
What is CatTracks?
CatTracks: Plan-it Forward Advisory Program meets the Idaho State graduation requirement for a senior culminating project. CatTracks gathers work, plans, and goals student already have and allows students to explore their aspirations and experience their goals.
As Sophomores, students address the essential question: Who am I as a learner, and What are my goals? Juniors focus on their goals and ask: How do I reach my goals? As seniors, students inventory their high school experience and answer the question: Am I in a position to achieve my goals?
"I think [CatTracks] is good for them to get out of their comfort zone and try things and learn things that they normally would not have to do in high school"
- Parent Interview, April 2011
"I was really impressed. I don't think I ever did anything like [CatTracks], where you have that much preparation and guidance into what you want to do in the future."
"I think [CatTracks] is a wonderful experience [for students at Madison High School]."
"[CatTracks] has given me an idea of my options for careers and stuff, so that I know which direction I want to explore."
- Student Interview, Class of 2012
"After this year and like, after giving my presentation and being done, I really know that [CatTracks] has helped me out a lot and I think it is a good idea. I say for all those Juniors and Sophomores to take it seriously."
- Senior Interview, Class of 2011
"[CatTracks] has made me look at myself and try to figure out which career is best, and while I already do that, [CatTracks] made me put it into a presentation format. Just vocalizing that instead of keeping it in your head helps."
"My first reaction was negative, I didn't want to do [CatTracks] at all. And while it still is one more thing we have to do, it is a good thing to have to do. If you just get it done, and don't procrastinate it, it can be as much as you make it."
"It has been really nice actually to have someone monitor your progress, making sure you get your resumes done, making sure you are actually thinking about the future. [CatTracks] has really been great that way."
- Junior Interview, Class of 2012
"My sophomore year it was pretty hard to get used to going to [CatTracks], but once you got in the groove of it, it was really nice. I had a great [CatTracks] teacher. Now I am really glad that I have done it, cause it has helped me have a jumpstart out of high school."
"I love the fact that [CatTracks] helps us think about life after high school"
"I think [CatTracks] is accomplishing what we need it to accomplish. And that is for [our students] to look at the future and try to make as many plans as they can. "
