Ever since a young lad, David has shown an aptitude towards photography, along with a desire to be a professional footballer.
As sportsmen in those days were low paid and had a short career span, then choosing a creative occupation, was the obvious decision.
Having served an apprenticeship as an assistant in a fashion/advertising studio he moved on to the ever important darkroom work in advertising > catalogue work, where he very soon became a specialist Black and White printer. His work could be seen in many publications.

For several years, APS, was a very successful business serving many Exhibitions and independent commercial clients, but alas the content of work changed more to giant enlargement.
David felt obliged to leave to maintain his photographic career. He continued freelancing for the same colleagues & clients, for several years afterwards.
Although his work has been has been specialising in Exhibitions, assignments working in Seminars, TV, and Award Ceremonies have all been part of every day life for him since 1979.
It seemed a natural progression that after several years, as a background of darkroom technicians, both in Black&White /Colour, that he moved on to operating the camera and Managing photographic sections of art studios.
Advancement continued, when David joined Photobition, an established Company specialising in all aspects of Exhibition Photography.
In 1984, along with 2 other colleagues, they decided to break away from Photobition and form a company called Alpha Photographic Services. (APS)
