Synopsis

Having served a year in prison after being wrongly accused of an insurance scam,

Danny Rooney returns to The World determined to make something of him-self.

However, an obligation to look after his two hapless and recalcitrant younger brothers,

and a local criminal gang, run by a sixty-year old female villain hell bent on keeping

the three boys firmly under her thumb, makes Dannys aspirations next to impossible.

In short, the Rooney brothers are a car crash waiting to happen.

A glimmer of hope arrives in the shape of a letter from Ireland. A distant relative

of their late mother has passed away and has bequeathed to them a pub. This sounds

like salvation to the boys, and an instant escape from the clutches of their wretched

lives.

Full of hope, Danny travels to a tiny village on the southwest coast of Ireland to attend

his relatives funeral and quickly discovers that all is not what it seems. For starters,

the pub is not a pub at all, but is in fact a funeral parlour. To complicate matters further,

the will stipulates that Danny will not receive ownership of the business unless he

consents to work with the deceaseds grand-son, the embalmer, an off the wall, angry,

self-loathing, drunken, misfit. If they refuse to work together, the business will

close forever.

The thought of running a funeral parlour is an absolute nightmare for Danny and he

is determined to get out of Dodge as quickly as possible. However, the villagers, a

motley crew of idiosyncratic oddballs led by an outlandish priest, have other ideas.

The funeral parlour has been in the village for generations, and its inhabitants are hell

bent on doing everything they can to keep it that way.

Add to this explosive mix Dannys blossoming love affair with the publicans gorgeous

daughter, complicated by her insanely jealous suitor, who happens to be the village

policeman.

The stakes increase further when Dannys two brothers show up unannounced seeking

refuge from the criminal gang to whom they owe a large sum of money as the gang

are hot on their trail, the stage is set for fireworks on a grand scale.

Danny Midwinter is known in the industry primarily as an actor and has, in his career to date, worked with actors such as Johnny Depp, Chris Penn, Corin Redgrave, Robbie Coltrane, Gerard Butler and Richard Chamberlain to name but a few. He has been cast in some very successful feature films and well loved television programmes.

Born in London his early ambition was to become a professional football player until he discovered his passion for acting. This passion was ignited with his very first role in the critically acclaimed Drop the Dead Donkey. Danny has a love of both watching and performing in comedy although tends to be cast as the villain of the piece rather than the funny guy!

Danny has decided to produce his own movie, Where There's a Will, a project he has been working on for the last 6 years. The script is based on an original story idea of Danny's and he is thrilled to be working with a wonderful team to bring the story to the big screen and share it with the audiences world wide.

He has several more ideas for film and television scripts which he hopes to work on in the near future.

Maurice began his professional life as a painter. He exhibited extensively in Europe and the US with shows in Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Chicago, New York, and London. He has work in two public collections: The Boymans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam and The Tate Gallery in London. Maurice designed sets for several contemporary dance companies including The London Contemporary Dance Theatre. He also designed sets for commercials, short films and rock videos before turning to directing himself.

His first short film, the award winning, Meeting Across the River, paved the way to directing commercials and rock videos. Over a period of three years Maurice directed over one hundred videos for a wide variety of artists and bands which won several MTV and international awards: Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, Billy Ocean, The Four Tops, The Thompson Twins, and Gladys Knight, to name but a few.

Maurices first feature film, The American Way (AKA Riders on the Storm), starring Dennis Hopper and Michael J. Pollard, was the official British entry at the Venice and Montreal Film Festivals, and won the Critics Prize, the Special Jury Prize, and the Entenne Dor at the Avoriaz Film Festival.

The American Way is a surprise. It packs more energy and ideas in its shots than many pictures twice it size, and Phillips has the movie on overload from its first intense and inventive sequence. Maurice went on to direct the critically acclaimed Max Headroom for ABC Television, and the feature film, Another You, starring Richard Prior and Gene Wilder for TriStar. He wrote and directed the feature film Enid is Sleeping, starring Elizabeth Perkins and Judge Reinholt, which was championed by Robert Redford, and opened the Sundance Film Festival that year. A wacky, absurdist comedy, this picaresque picture was an absolute crowd pleaser at Sundance this year, and could be a real box office winner. Writer director Maurice Phillips keeps Enid wonderfully straight on the story road that is to say he lets it fly in the spirit of this crazy caper comedy The Hollywood Reporter.

This offbeat, fast paced, funny film, if handled correctly, has the potential to become a real winner, and enjoyed strong, favorable audience reaction at the festival. Deftly directed by Phillips, the films success lies its ability to reflect very real stateof- mind life in a small town where everyone knows everyone else, and no-ones going anywhere. The fine performances by its leading cast turn an incredible plot into absolute solid entertainment. Variety.

Maurice has also worked extensively in British television drama: The four part mini-series for the BBC, Signs and Wonders starring James Earl Jones, David Warner and Jodhi May, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, starring John Hannah, and Second Sight, starring Clive Owen, to name but a few. He has won two Royal Television Awards for Best Drama and has been nominated for an International Emmy. "Tonight... I'm a rock n roll star!" , award-winning filmmaker Ian D. Fleming chose to change direction. His creative urges had been turned to filmmaking through creating pop videos for his bands record releases.

"I had to break up the band!" Sidestepping into film production and screenwriting, Ians mature tale of childhood ... the self-penned-directed short drama LITTLE BOY SOLDIERS (1996) launched his career. It gathered a clutch of plaudits, including a Sony Award and an RTS award.

Ian honed his craft as a key creative in many professional productions. He has produced UKFC shorts, factual TV shows and arts documentaries; written commissioned and self-generated screenplays and directed high profile TV drama.

In 1997 Ian was key founder of Cumbria Film Independents a successful film co-operative who became key regional players, generating enough finance and productions to go commercial as Screenworks.

21st Century Boy... At the turn of the century, Ian held a unique position in British theatre, as Film Maker In Residence with Northern Stage Ensemble Theatre, under Artistic Director Alan Lyddiard.

As an early pioneer of digital cinema, Ians pro-debut as writer-director-producer, THE GATHERERS, gained high praise from the industry and was one of the first pieces of digital cinema. In the last gasps of the 20th Century, Ian toured the country with Sony UK as a champion of digital cinema.

Dean Fisher has produced five successful feature films, a number of shorts and a full-length documentary. He started out as a runner, gradually working his way up through the ranks. He began his producing career with short films which were distributed all over the world and even featured on Virgin Airlines transatlantic flights. Dean’s final short film was in 2004 and was the self-penned multi award-winning TEN MINUTES which has been screened at numerous international film festivals and broadcast around the world.

Dean’s first feature was the cult NIGHT JUNKIES in 2006, with a budget of only £45, 000. It went on to become a commercial success with sales to US co Allumination, Zone Horror in the UK and various other countries. His second feature CITY RATS became a UK top three hit when it was released by Revolver Entertainment in April 2009. In that year it also screened both at Slamdance and the East End Film Festival. Dean’s most recent feature STORMHOUSE, was a high concept horror which premiered at the prestigious Edinburgh Film, Scream Fest and was seen at Frightfest. STORMHOUSE was released by Lionsgate in the US in winter 2012.

Dean is currently in post-production on INTERVIEW WITH A HITMAN, a crime thriller starring Luke Goss. The film is being made in partnership with Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, North Star Ventures and Northern Film and Media. The film has broken even on pre-sales to minor territories alone with its release due for spring 2012. Dean is also in post-production on THE MAN INSIDE, a boxing thriller starring Peter Mullan, Michelle Ryan, Ashley Bashy Thomas, David Harewood, Jason Maza, Carl Barat and Ray Panthaki.
