Saint John's Youth Ministry Overview
Founded in July of 2007, Saint John's Youth Ministry's (SJYM) facilitates the young to encounter the Word of God, the community of faith, and the worship of the Lord in prayer and liturgy, and are continuously challenged to a life of service in the Lord’s name.
The goals of Youth Ministry are:
* To foster the total and personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
* To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community.
* To give the world a sign of God’s Kingdom by challenging the young to work for justice and peace among the poor and the
oppressed.
We reach these goals through the components of advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization justice peace and service, prayer and worship, leadership, development and enablement and pastoral care and guidance.
Every young person in the parish is already part of the program and is invited to participate in any and all of our programs. We want our young people to feel that Youth Ministry is a stress-free environment where they feel welcome and safe.
Meeting schedule: Programs are offered all year round for young people in high school and grades 7 & 8. To see the latest meetings and events, please check our calendar section.
