SJB is a Life Teen parish in Ottsville, PA dedicated to "Leading Teens Closer to Christ" by following the words of St. John the Baptist: "He must INCREASE, I must decrease." (John 3:30)
Our youth group is open to all teens between 7th and 12th grade. Our middle school program also includes a sacramental preparation component called 1:8. Modeled after Life Teen's OneEight program inspired by the book of Acts chapter 1 verse 8.
Both the Senior High Life Teen and Middle School EDGE programs meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday in the "Upper Room" of the Parish Center. EDGE is from 5:30PM-7PM and Life Nights are from 7:30PM-9PM. Every 3rd Sunday from 6:30PM-8PM we host the 1:8 program where Senior High students help lead 7th graders who are preparing for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Those who have already received the Sacrament are also invited to attend.

The EDGE program is for all 7th-8th graders. EDGE meets weekly from 5:30PM-7:00PM on Sundays. (Beginning in Fall of 2010).
Also a part of the jr. High program at SJBYG is the 1:8 program for Sacramental Preparation for candidates of Confirmation. Every 3rd Sunday of the month, 7th graders preparing to receive the Sacrament are required to attend 1:8nights. 8th grade EDGE-ers are also encouraged to attend.
It is the mission of the EDGE program to challenge middle school-ers on the "EDGE" of important decisions of their life, to live for Christ. Through a variety of different activities, teens will encounter Christ in themselves, in others, and in the Sacramental life of the Church.

All Are Welcome
All are welcome to attend any event at SJBYG. Teens only need to hand in a completed permission form and any related event fees to participate.

Although all are welcome to participate at SJBYG, regsitered members will receive special "members only" privies:
(registration costs simply help SJBYG to cover basic costs of running the program.)

LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP
Silver Membership ($35) registers a teens contact information for SJBYG Updates, enrolls them in our special insurance program (necessary in order to participate in "intense" activties like skiing/snowboarding), and entitles teens to receive special discounts on events.
Gold Membership ($135) includes all the benefits of the silver membership but also includes a weekend retreat hosted by SJBYG in either the Fall or the Spring.
Platinum Membership ($200) includes all of the above mentioned benefits and also enables you to have $65 of YG credit towards future SJBYG events or items from the SJB Oasis Resource Room & Bookstore.
