The Legion's aims are to celebrate the Star Wars movies through the wearing of costumes, to promote the quality and improvement of costumes and props, and most importantly to contribute to the local community through charity and volunteer work..."TO CELEBRATE:Star Wars fans come from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, but no matter how diverse they may seem, common bonds become evident when people come together to celebrate their passion for George Lucas's modern mythology. Some fans are content to collect action figures...other fans want to be action figures. Nothing professes your fandom quite like building your own detailed costume replica of a classic Star Wars villain, and there's nothing quite like the feeling that comes from bringing the characters of Star Wars into the real world and sharing the magic with others.TO PROMOTE:A truly engaging Star Wars experience only occurs through a convincing appearance. To this end, the 501st constantly strives to improve the quality and accuracy of its member's costumes. Our goal is to appear as if our characters have just stepped off the big screen and into this world.TO CONTRIBUTE:While our organization was founded to simply provide a collective identity for costuming fans with similar interests, the 501st is proud to put its resources to good use through fundraising, charity work, and volunteerism.NUESTRA MISION:Del articulo I de nuestro documento del Legion Charter."....Lalegión es un club de voluntarios formados con el expreso propósito de reunir a entusiastas de los disfrases y proveer para ellos una colectividad en la cual operar. A promover la calidad y el mejoramiento de los disfrases y parefernalia y mas importatante, el contribuir con la comunidad mediante caridad y trabajo comunitario.PARA CELEBRAR:Los fans de Star Wars vienen de una gran variedad de entornos, pero no importa que tan diversos puedan ser, los lazos entre ellos se vuelven evidentes cuando se juntan para celebrar su pasión por la mitología moderna creada por George Lucas. Algunos fans coleccionan figuras de acción... otros fans quieren ser figuras de acción. Nada prédica mas tu afición que el construir tu propia réplica detallada de un traje de un villano clásico de Star Wars, y no hay nada como el sentimiento de haber traído a la vida a los personajes de Star Wars en el mundo real y compartir la magia con otros.PARA PROMOVER:Una verdadera y duradera experiencia de Star Wars ocurre solamente mediante la convivencia en un evento. Con este fin la 501st constantemente busca el perfeccionamiento de la calidad de los trajes de sus miembros. Nuestra meta es el parecer como si nuestros personajes hubieran salido directamente de la pantalla a nuestro mundo. PARA CONTRIBUIR:Mientras que nuestra organización fue creada simplemente para proveer un identidad colectiva a aquellos fans que realizan trajes y que tienen intereses similares, la 501st, se siente orgullosa de emplear sus recursos a través de fundaciones, colectas, trabajo de caridad y voluntariado.
