Simona Garufi Arquitecta
Italian, daughter art (comes from a family of famous sicilian sculptors), approaches this artistic world attending art school and then the Architectural University in Naples, where she graduate with honors at the age of 25.
In 2002 she moved to Milan and after a short activity in the construction industry she specialize in interior design.
Since 2005 she begin working closely with the architectural firm BSA in Turin, which helps her to enrich the contents of her design.
The passion he has for the history of art, is always present, conceptually, in all his works. The architecture, as art applied to daily life, becomes the medium that allows her to combine the space/environment with the one metaphysical.
Each designed and produced element has a vital relationship with the thought. The results are spaces so rich of conceptual elements, living with the man, who come to its habits, its logic, or, in the case of the much wider project, which will inevitably interact with their surroundings.
The pencil (rather than the computer) is the main tool of his way to design. The artistic ability allows her to have a much broader vision of space and to enhance opportunities to the most hidden.
Since 2008 she lives and works in Madrid
Italiana y hija de arte (viene de una familia de famosos escultores sicilianos), aborda el mundo artístico asistiendo a la escuela de arte y luego la Facultad de Arquitectura de Nápoles, donde se graduó con honores a la edad de 25 años.
En 2002 se trasladó a Milán y, después de una breve actividad en el sector de la construcción, se especializó en diseño de interiores.
Desde el 2005 empezó a trabajar en estrecha colaboración con el estudio de arquitectura BSA en Turín que la lleva a enfrentarse con espacios comerciales y residencias históricas a reinterpretar en manera contemporánea.
La grande pasión que siente por la historia del arte, está siempre presente, conceptualmente, en todas sus obras. La arquitectura, el arte aplicado a la vida cotidiana, se convierte así en el medio que le permite combinar el espacio/ambiente real con lo metafísico.
Cada elemento diseñado y producido tiene una indispensable relación con el pensamiento. Nacen así espacios ricos de elementos conceptuales, que viven con el hombre, que se acercan a sus hábitos, a sus lógicas, o, en el caso de proyectos más amplios, que van a interactuar con el entorno.
El lápiz (mas que el ordenador) es la principal herramienta de su forma de diseñar. La capacidad artística le permite, en este sentido, de tener una visión mucho más amplia del espacio y resaltar oportunidades a los más ocultos.
Desde hace el 2008 vive y trabaja en Madrid
