Sadly, life has taken some twists and turns, and it has become necessary for me to sell my sweet Pharao. I am happy to announce however, that he is now owned by Angela Crawford, SunStar Arabians, and will be going to his new home soon! Congratulations Angela, I hope you love him as much as I do!
Pharao
(Burgundy Sun x The Sun Heiress)
2004 Flaxen Chestnut Arabian Stallion
SCID Clear
Bred by Phara Farm,Pharao's extreme beauty is a perfect combination of classic Arabian type, excellent conformation, athleticism, and an amazing disposition.
Representing sixth generation Phara Farm breeding, Pharao boasts an incredible 6 crosses to the legendary Lewisfield Sun God and 68 crosses to the Crabbet foundation sire Skowronek. Like Lewisfield Sun God, Pharao is the product of a full-brother, full-sister mating, his sire being the one and only Burgundy Sun, his dam The Sun Heiress - a full sister to both Burgundy Sun and Phara's current stallion, The Sun Prince. Tightly coupled with a large hindquarter, excellent legs, and strong bone, Pharao also has an extremely typey head with an incredible bulging jibbah, broad forehead and huge jowel, tiny muzzle and wide-set eyes. A rich, copper chestnut with a very flaxen mane and tail, and so closely resembling Lewisfield Sun God, Pharao is intensely line-bred to pass on his classic characteristics to his foals.
Pharao's personality is true to his breeding - he is pure in the strain Seglawi al Abd, known for horses that have an intense love and connection with their human, great intelligence, superior athleticism and elegance. He is extremely intelligent and bold; not a spooky horse, he readily approaches new things with brave curiosity. Bonding strongly with his human, he has an incredible work ethic and lives to please, constantly striving to understand and oblige what is asked of him. So committed to pleasing us, he always gives 100%, and the soft look in his eye and gentle nudge of his forehead when he knows he's done well is priceless. Pharao is very agile and both quick and light on his feet; at liberty he will often perform roll-backs and canter-departs from a standstill, all with incredible ease and grace. His exuberance in motion translates to huge, ground-covering strides and extreme suspension . With his beautiful conformation, type, and disposition, Pharao is an excellent example of the classic Arabian horse.

We are extremely excited to announce that Pharao's first foal is on the way! Our lovely mare "Dinah", Muscelusive (MHR Muscateal x JF Elusive) has been confirmed via ultrasound to be in-foal! We anxiously await her "due date" of June 14th, 2010.
This foal will surely be a superior athlete, with both parents contributing substance, correctness, and movement. With Dinah being a beauty in her own right, and Pharao's exotic and classic type, this foal will no doubt also be a stunner! Time will pass ever so slowly as we wait in anticipation of his or her arrival! This filly/colt will be available for sale, we welcome inquiries.
Pretty AND Performance!
Pharao was started lightly under saddle in the fall of 2008. Due to moving the farm and other life circumstances, his training has unfortunately, thus far, been intermittent. Pharao has been a star throughout this time; he always retains what he's learned from previous sessions, and even seems to improve during his time off! He has amazed me with his eagerness to perform, his intelligence and quickness at picking up new things, and he has such heart. He is so very proud of himself while he is working under saddle, and thoroughly enjoys our time together, as do I!
These pictures were taken on about his 5th ride, it was only his second time cantering under saddle! Pharao has proven himself to be a wonderful athlete, naturally balanced and fluid, very strong in the loin and consistently working well off of his hind end - even at liberty. He exhibits extreme potential for talent at dressage, or, as we plan to do with him, reining. He is very light and responsive, and naturally stops well; nicely balanced, and - as can be seen in the photo of him backing - easily getting up under himself . He amazed me with an unexpected, yet beautiful little sliding stop, as well as some fancy roll-backs while he was being ground driven! It will be a long, slow process, but we plan for Pharao to make his debut as a reiner in the show ring in 2011. If it does not interfere with his reining training, we plan to show him in 2010 in western pleasure, trail, perhaps sport horse in-hand, and of course - Most Classic Head!
Pharao is also right at home out on the trail; in July 2009 we took him up into the Mt. Adams wilderness for his very first trail ride! He was a star, bravely leading the ride, and crossing obstacles such as creeks, logs, and several bridges - one of which rose 20 feet above the river, and made quite a noise from his hooves - at which, he never batted an eye! Proud doesn't even begin to describe my feelings!
