Upon arrival at the church, we looked forward to having the Word of God ministered to us by either Pastor Sammy or Pastor Ric.However, once inside the sanctuary of Community Life Church, we learned that neither Pastor Sammy or Pastor Ric would be ministering the Word of God on this particular morning. Instead on this Lord's day we were treated to the Word of God in a manner that was indeed living, active and sharper than any two edge sword.The Word of God was served to us by the drama ministry in the form of a play. The play was based out of the Book of Job and it was awesome. For my family and me , the play was so timely because we had recently read the Book of Job in our family devotions. This play literally transported everyone in the sanctuary into the drama that surrounded Job's life during the period that is recorded in the Bible. Once transported into the drama, the writer and actors did an phenomenal job of making the story of Job relevant and real to our time. So much so that the play even had the complete attention of three young sons (ages 3, 6 and 10). Brother Robert brought so much realness to the role of Job and Pastor Sammy was almost too convincing as the accuser of the brethren. This play did it's job (no pun intended), it reminded us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. It further reminded us that the Almighty God is still in control over everything and everybody. For many days after I saw the play, I could not stop speaking about it to everyone with whom I came in contact. This is how blessed I was by the production.Not only was I blessed by the performance/ministry of the actors, but the music director should also be credited for the way in which the musical selections supported the drama and kept the play moving all the way to the end. The only cherry that could have been put on top of this play would have been if they had visited the last chapter of the Book of Job. I have always appreciated the restoration and latter being greater themes of the last chapter of Job.Should you ever find out that this play is being ministered anywhere in the region. I recommend that you go and see it. You will be blessed and encouraged.Dr. David L.
