Tena Brown has been a motivational and inspirational speaker, author and teacher for over twenty years. Suffering from a lifelong chronic illness helped her develop extraordinary empathy with the struggles and self-esteem issues of all people, especially young girls. In her work with patient empowerment, she has conducted trainings for thousands of dermatologist, dermatology nurses and medical students in institutions such as the Mayo Clinic, Geisinger Clinic, and medical schools around the country. Tena is the only non-medical person to regularly deliver workshops at the American Academy of Dermatology National Conferences. This workshop, How to Have an Unforgettably Positive Office Visit, has been one of the most highly rated and attended offerings at the Conference for the past three years.
Steven Shama, M.D., M.P.H. has been practicing dermatology at the New England Deaconess Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for over 20 years. He has lectured on dermatology to national and local audiences for over 15 years, but it has been in the last 8 years that he has dedicated his work to his passion, the Joy of Medicine and more universally the Joys of Life.
