Prairie Dance Theatre was founded by Beth Shumway in 1978. From 1978 until 2002, Prairie Dance Theatre offered concerts, children’s shows, workshops and residency work in Oklahoma and the surrounding ten-state region as a professional touring dance company.
In the fall of 2003, we introduced The Prairie Dance Experience, designed for children ages seven through twelve in the Oklahoma City Public Schools.
PDT has grown to have five dance-based programs all offered free of charge to public school students in Oklahoma.
