Heart
The purpose of this image is to demonstrate the meaning of love. The heart necklace is the symbol of love while the background stands for the peaceful beauty love should be. The main technical challenge was trying to get the necklace to stop spinning so I could take the long exposure picture. A special technique I used while editing this picture was colorizing it to have a brown tint. The strongest part of this image was the heart. The weakest part was the sky.
Blurred Travel
This was my first attempt at night/ long exposure photography. One of the technical challenges i had was setting the shutter speed to an appropriate time in order to capture the lights of the truck properly. I believe the strongest part of this image is the amount of light lines I captured. I believe that the weakest part of this image is the dot of light created by a lamp because it is a distraction in the photograph.
Tiny Creek
The significance of this image was that it was my first HDR image. A technical challenge I overcame was to properly expose each image to create the HDR. The strongest part of this image was the bridge and the trees. The weakest part of this image was the pipes under the bridge.
Autumn Leaves
The purpose of this image was to show the beauty of fall colours. A technical challenge I overcame was the leaves moving around while i was trying to take the picture. The strongest part of this image is the red leaf because it's the part of the image your eye is first drawn to. The weakest part was the bars under the bench.
Fresco Rose
The significance of this image was that it was the first image I used the "fresco" effect on. A technical challenge I over came while taking this image was getting the lighting right. A special technique used was I added a fresco effect. The strongest part of this image was the flower. The weakest part of this image is that the background is almost the same colour as the flower.
Sunny Fields
The purpose of this image was to show the bright colours of summer. A technical challenge I overcame while taking this image was to keep the flower from moving out of the frame. The strongest part of this image is the brightness of the flower because it draws your eye to the picture. The weakest part of this image is there are fewer petals at the top, left corner which makes the composition of the flower look uneven

The meaning of this image is to show that you can tell what a girl likes by their eyes. A technical challenge I over came was trying to do something creative with the glare in the models eyes. When editing this picture I brightened the eyes to make them stand out. The strongest part of this image is the models irises because they are the main focus of the image. The weakest part of this image is how her hair covers the top corner of the image.

The meaning of this image is to show that you look at the one differently then you look at anyone else. A technical challenge I overcame while taking this image was to get the lighting properly on the eye. When editing this picture I darkened the lashes to make them frame the eye. The strongest part of this image is the irises. The weakest part of this image is the glare in the eye.
Curiosity
This picture symbolizes the subtle glance a curious eye has when exploring something new secretly. A technical challenge I overcame in this image was getting the lighting the way I wanted it to be. When editing this picture I converted it to black and white and kept the iris as a colour element in the image. The strongest part of this image is the contrast between the colour of the iris and the remaining black and white of the image. The weakest part of this image is the reflection of the lights on the eye.
Gotta be More Out There
The meaning of this image is that every person always LOOK for better things for them in the world but a lot never TRY to achieve these better things. This is a picture of that dreaming gaze. A technical challenge I overcame while taking this image was getting the bokeh to work in the background while still properly exposing the eye. When editing this image I brightened the iris to make it stand out. The strongest part of this image is how the lighting of the eye goes with the bokeh effect. The weakest part of this image is that you can see the reflector in the eye.
Midnight Dream
This image symbolizes how people often look to the night sky while dreaming for something to happen. A technical challenge I overcame while taking this image was to get the lighting the way I wanted it and to try to get rid of the reflection I the eye. When editing this image I tried to remove the red lines from the eye but it made the eye look fake and I disliked it. The strongest part of this image is the colour of the iris. The weakest part of this image is the red veins in the eyes.

This image demonstrates that gazing look at nothing people get when they are deep in thought about something else. A technical challenge I overcame when taking this image was to minimalize the reflection of the light in the eye. When editing this picture I brightened the colour of the iris to make them stand out more in the picture. The strongest part of this image is the detail in the iris. The weakest part of this picture is the colour of the skin in the picture.
My Theme
The theme I chose for this portfolio was macro shots of the human eye. I chose this theme because I felt macro shots was a style that I had barely tried in the past and wanted to explore more. I chose to take macro shots of the human eye because I believe that the human eye is very beautiful and can express many emotions without showing and other parts of the body. I took my images to try to show emotions often conveyed by eyes, like dreaming, curiosity, love, etc. There were many technical challenges that stood in my way during the process of taking these images but I struggled through them and in the end I believe I created very good end products. I had a good experience exploring something new with these photographs and Im glad I took the time to complete this theme and style.
