Welcome
The PatternSmithing alliance serves a community of those involved in patternsmithing activities and maintains the standards that are used across the professions and technologies that use static pattern engineering at their core.

I’m happy to announce the “launch” of DreamSpawn, which effectively gives an overview of this company’s overarching strategy for the next few years, as well as how all of the products and initiatives will work together. Essentially, the concept of ThingKs and the practice of patternsmithing (crafting ThingKs, whether they are your own or others, into [...]
As the core infrastructure is being put together for the site, I have made an initial technical decision that will also enable a (future) marketing campaign. Without being able to seek his permission, I am tweaking one of René Descartes’s most famous expressions ‘I think, therefore I am‘ to signify what I want to represent [...]
I am excited to announce the commencement of active development on Thingk.com, which will be the first of several partner sites centered around the activity of bringing ‘thingks’ into reality. This site is for the community with the intention of inspiring people from all backgrounds and walks of life to engage in creative activity. Ultimately, [...]
In order to sense resonance clearly, it is my belief that a mind should be able to achieve a state called Unconditioned Consciousness, if only for a moment (which at times is all that is possible). The conditioning of consciousness is necessary (that is a question) to manage the complexity of the physical and [...] No related posts.
David Bohm, in a series of talks (that later became the book Thought as as System) once said that we should delineate between ‘thoughts’ and ‘thinks’. Thoughts are former products of consciousness that are stored in memory and passed around from person to person, while ‘thinks’ are products of consciousness created in the [...] No related posts.
…The virtual side of static pattern engineering is going to take further form in a new project codenamed ‘FluxPoints’. A fluxpoint will be a virtual and active representation of a static pattern (or an aggregation of static patterns) on the Internet… [From a previous post] Formerly called the ‘endpoints’ project, after further development of the idea I [...] No related posts.
This post is just about some decisions made about the technological (and publishing) side of work concerning static pattern engineering. First, I’ve made a decision about publication of the first volume I am working on for static pattern engineering. I have decided to publish it using Amazon’s Digital Media Platform. Therefore, the first title will only [...] No related posts.
Static Pattern Engineering has roots in engineering, chemistry, computer science, and cognitive science. The two most useful and powerful constructs from SPE (and I could argue, in these associated fields) are those of the transform and operator (in order of decreasing power). An operator is an embodiment (in the physical, virtual, or cognitive domain(s)) [...] No related posts.
I honestly believe I will be working on SPE my entire life, and am prepared to do so; however, a life goal of mine (i.e., before I die) is to see the knowledge base of the field (core theory as well as tried and true mapping of it to case studies and implementations) developed enough [...] No related posts.
I just read a nice random quotation from David Berlinsky, author of _The Advent of the Algorithm_: Every computer divides itself into its hardware and its software, the machine host to its algorithm, the human being to his mind. It is hardly surprising that men and women have done what computers now do long before computers [...] No related posts.
The alliance serves several distinct functions:
1
2
3
Maintains a repository of information concerning the patterns and practices of the art of patternsmithing so that they can be utilized for artistic, technical, and otherwise creative endeavours by individuals from any background.
Serves as a common standards body to establish educational, technological, and vocational standards.
As the vocations of patternsmith, static pattern engineer, and static pattern architect develop, provide direction to developing curricula.
4
5
6
Maintain the body of semantic web ontologies that are used to organize both the body of knowledge but also the creations of individual users in the community.
Oversee the emerging technological standards, APIs (both open source and proprietary), and frameworks that develop to support patternsmithing in the technological domains.
While maintaining a network of registered and certified patternsmiths/engineers/architects, also maintain a set of resources for vocational expansion, including overseeing the standardization of vocational functions performed by individuals in the various fields.
Members receive the following benefits
Membership is initiated by the following process
Access to exclusive training, including prototype curricula and emerging technologies/practices.
Access to exclusive tools, technology, products, services, and knowledge related to the state of the art of the practices in each field - often developed by our members.
Exclusive collaborational, vocational, and networking opportunities.
