My current body of work deals with the issue of apathy and laziness. In American culture, television in particular has the effect of inducing a catatonic and isolating state. I illustrate this catatonia by juxtaposing past references to culture with modern technology. Throughout this year I have experimented in a variety of printmaking techniques such as collagraph, etching, monotype, and silkscreen. Though the media in my current work may vary, I always contrast the old with the new by rendering the past recontextualized objects/images realistically and the modern technology in a less literal style.
