Leaders Led has a very original sound best described as a unique blend of classic rock, progressive rock and reggae/dubb, with blues and funk undertones. The band receives an enthusiastic positive response from the crowd every time they play and have quickly gained notoriety throughout Massachusetts and beyond...
Beginning in 2004, brothers Guy and Alex Bardascino and, longtime friend, Justin Trulli felt the need to materialize their love of playing music with the creation of their first music project "Out of the Blue". Right away, their charisma and songwriting prowess was undeniable. Eventually bringing another Bardascino brother, Keith Bardascino, into the band to play bass, the group compiled a myriad of unique and powerful songs. In 2005, the band felt for many different reasons that it was not the right time to pursue their musical aspirations and disbanded. During a 4-year hiatus, they remained close but each member went their own way and finished school. Guy in California; Alex, Keith and Justin in Massachusetts. Guy and Alex, though on opposite sides of the U.S., continued to write music independently.
In 2009, the band regrouped, but Keith made the decision to not rejoin for personal reasons. The band found a new bassist in their good friend Tyler Mortenson. With the new perspective that Tyler added to the band, they immediately began writing new songs and reworking some of their previous material. Leaders Led was born.
Refining their sound, and adding some new aspects to the music brought a new sense of optimism and dedication to the band. Leaders Led felt that their new and unique sound was ready to be unleashed in the public arena. Playing their first live show in March 2009 as the opening act at the Chit Chat Lounge in Haverhill, MA, the band locally developed a loyal following right out of the gate. After only 5 months, the band was drawing large crowds when they would headline shows, filling many venues to capacity.
In September of 2009, Leaders Led expanded to the Boston area to play larger venues and gain exposure in the Boston music scene. This led to winning the No Contracts Needed Rompetion (a music competition with featuring more than 50 of Boston's best independent artists) in March 2010. In April of 2011, Leaders Led was a headliner at the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.
With several noteworthy upcoming shows, a 4-song EP released in 2010, and their debut album "Armchair Patriot" in production with Sanctum Sound Studios (Boston). Leaders Led is elated with the direction in which they are going and is looking forward with excitement to what the future holds.
