Welcome to the Harrison Intermediate Library, where kids come first. My name is Shelly Ford and I am the Library Media Specialist. This is my eleventh year with Wylie ISD. This is my fifth year as Harrison's LMS. Before coming to Harrison I taught fourth grade at Dodd Elementary. I believe the library should be a warm inviting place for everyone. Students can come in to the library before school and during lunch to read, work on projects, take AR test, play games on the computers or play chess or checkers on the game table. We have some great websites listed on our library home page for research. I have two boys, Ryan, who is nineteen and Taylor who is an eighth grader at Burnett. I also have two cats, a dog and a gerbil that lives in the library.
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. It is an exciting time to be a student at Harrison Intermediate. Our school and library were painted this summer. Our walls are now gray and the lockers and trim are blue. Also with the help of some great PTA moms one wall in the library was painted with the slogan "Read Like a Rock Star." I have also put new curtains and blinds up in the library. Many of our teachers have painted their rooms and you will see guitars in the library, hallways and some of the teacher's rooms. This is because our theme this year is
Harrison Rocks!!!!
We are the Harrison Rock Stars and we are going to help each student shine. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year.
