About
ABOUT ME
Growing up around the sign industry, it was a given that I would follow in my father's foot steps and become a designer. I started my studies with formal art lessons under the direction of New England artist, Steve Previtt, in addition to learning digital techniques from my dad.In high school, I went on to take a vocational course in Graphic Communications and Printing Technology under master printer, Jay Zaccone. I also served as Academics Editor on the yearbook committee and Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper.Immediately after graduation, I completed a graphic design workshop at the New England Institute of Art in Boston. I eventually went on to study Digital Media Design Technology at Texas State Technical College - Harlingen while serving as Vice-President of the photojournalism and design club which oversaw the campus newsmagazine. While in college, I gained on-the-job experience in the fast-paced world of print and sign shops. This helped me build skills and techniques to deliver exactly what the client wants on a fast turnaround. In January of 2010, I became a freelance contractor under the business name Mismikado Creations with a primary focus on the wedding and event industries. That October, I joined the Balch Springs Arts Alliance as a visual arts teacher and marketing consultant. Working with this non-profit organization has been a wonderful experience that was especially fulfilling when I co-organized a 2011 spring break expo for 800 participants.Creativity runs through my blood leading me to wake up everyday with the desire to be productive and artistic. This brings me great joy in the work that I do and I am always looking for ways to expand that.
