Who we are
SC PACIFIC CORP was incorporated on October 25, 1985 by Norman Sakamoto, a licensed civil engineer, and Vaughn Miyauchi, an architect major. They had extensive experience in the construction industry, having worked for S&M Sakamoto Inc , a general contractor, for ten years prior to starting SC Pacific Corp . They witnessed rapid growth on O`ahu and saw a need for a general contractor that would offer quality work at reasonable prices to individuals and small businesses. Thus, the guiding principal for the establishment of SC PACIFIC CORP was to fill a need for affordable quality work .
Principals' and Company timeline
1969- Norman graduates from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BS in Civil Engineering
1970- Norman graduates with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana
1970-1973- Norman works for the City of Los Angeles and the US Army Corps of Engineers
1972- Norman receives his Civil Engineer's License for the State of California
1973- Norman returns to Hawaii and joins the family construction business - S&M Sakamoto, Inc.
1975- Norman receives his Civil Engineers License for the State of Hawaii
1985- Norman and Vaughn form SC Pacific Corp
1992- In the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki, SC Pacific sets up an office and operation in Lihue, Kauai
1994- Norman is elected President of the Building Industry Association of Hawaii
1996- Norman is elected to the Hawaii State Senate. Handling of day-to-day operations is transitioned to Vaughn.
Present- Norman and Vaughn share ownership and management of SC Pacific Corp. Day-to-day operation of the company is handled by Vaughn.

- Vaughn serves as company President and senior estimator. Vaughn has bid on hundreds of projects throughout his career in the construction industry. He brings an eye for architecture to each project.

- Greg assists Vaughn with large project management and documentation, including but not limited to, daily field reporting, RFI's, submittals, change order documentation.
- Shop drawings and quality control
- Education in civil structural engineering and limited structural engineering design experience.
