About
the Running Roosters is an all-male arts group. It was started for men who create in a variety of media, including painting, collage, photography, woodworking, and other creative pursuits. We are select individuals recognized in our respective fields, and seek to give back and contribute to our communities and disciplines. Our artists live primarily in the North Carolina Triad area, but our outreach is also global. We believe art belongs to the average person and not to the elite. We believe that art is the seminal force behind the continuance of our culture -- to make us think, to help us enjoy the beauty of the world around us, to help us be human. Art is ageless, timeless, beyond geography, and beyond religion. Look to find the Running Roosters somewhere near you. You'll be hearing from us.

Bob Stuart
Artisan Bob Stuart is a master woodcarver who pays close attention to every detail in his process, from start to finish. He adds his whimsical "woodland spirits" to bottle stoppers, walking sticks, and larger carvings.Starting as cypress knees in Florida swamps, Bob's carvings receive a variety of moustache treatments, but they all are friendly enough to evoke a smile. In the tradition of the German black forest carvers, Bob finds the life in each of his creations and brings it out for all to see. Bob exhibits all over the region and has a host of fans and friends from around the globe. You can track his comings and goings on his website.

David
David Cole (?)
David has been pursuing his love of pottery and the arts for more than 20 years. His work has included wheel thrown pottery, handmade tiles, tile murals including installations, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, drawing, and furniture making. David is an accomplished potter and his extraordinary work has even been commissioned multiple times by Our State magazine. He says, "I want my work to be used and enjoyed as both utilitarian and decorative. My view on art vs. craft is that there should be no misaprehension about one being better than the other. A good painting or a good pot should be one that stimulates and thrills the viewer and user to pause and smile."
