And Batting
Gloves!
Sat-Bats is a small baseball bat company run and owned by Dustin Satloff. Dustin Satloff, born in 1993, started Sat-Bats in July of 2006. Despite his young age, Dustin knows a lot about baseball, being both a player and a bat manufacturer. Sat-Bats is a company that manufactures mostly bamboo baseball bats. Bamboo is a great material for bats because it is much stronger than ash and better for the environment. What this means for the buyer is that you get a longer lasting bat, while still helping the environment. The way that bamboo is better for the environment than an ash tree is that bamboo is fully grown in only five years, while ash grows in about 40 years.
Bamboo holds the promise of a sustainable cost effective and ecologically responsible alternative to the widespread clear-cutting of our world’s hardwood forests. Bamboo’s strength is 28,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) as opposed to the 23,000 PSI of steel (and who can swing a steel bat?).
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing materials known to man. It takes on average 5 years to grow a full size bamboo plant and 40 to grow a maple or ash tree. Because bamboo is such a great resource it is much better for nature than other woods.

SatBats are made primarily from bamboo although we have started to manufacture maple bats as well. Bamboo bats are better for the environment because the bamboo plant grows significanrtly faster than a maple or ash tree, not to mention bamboo is a much stronger than both maple and ash. Even with bamboo's benefits many leagues including the MLB do not allow bamboo bats. The MLB does not allow bamboo because it is a violation of their one and only bat restriction, which is rule 1.10 (a): This rule states that "The bat shall be one piece of solid wood". Although the maple bats are not as strong as bamboo bats they are more powerful when hit on the sweet spot. Both the maple and bamboo bats retail for $59.95.
