LED Lights
We offer LED lighting solutions to replace both conventional bulbs and fluorescent tubes. LED lights use much less power and last up to 10 times longer than conventional lights. This means massive savings on energy and lamp replacement costs. LED lights are an environmentallly friendly solution to your lighting problems.
Desert™ No Flush Urinal
The Desert™ No Flush Urinal is a completely waterless urinal bowl. Incorporating the Desert™ Cube patented chemical free technology with MSB technology and a removable and reusable trap, this urinal will save you up to 99,9% of water. The high quality porcelain bowl is made with silver nano technology for easy cleaning.
Desert™ Cube Water-Efficient Urinal System uses natural microbial activity to control odours and the build-up of uric scale. The cubes are placed in the urinal bowl or base, and the water supply turned off. A small amount of water is poured into the urinal each day to flush away degraded matter and to activate the cubes. Beneficial microbes are released as the cubes slowly dissolve over several weeks, triggering a natural breakdown of organic matter inside the drain. The microbial action is enhanced with the Desert™ spray-on booster washroom cleaner. The process works the same way as a compost bin or septic tank

The benefits are not only in the massive water savings, but also in odour elimination, chemical free maintenance and improved hygiene.The problem with urinalsSurprisingly, urine itself is not the main source of the problem. Urine is almost 98% water, mild in odour and is usually sterile. The problems begin when bacteria bind with the solids found in urine. The offensive smell we associate with urinals occurs when faecal bacteria digest uric proteins to give off toxic ammonia-based gases. Bacteria settle on washroom surfaces and form colonies wherever there is a wet or damp environment, a food source, and protection from direct light.A continually flushing urinal provides precisely these conditions. Naturally, hygiene suffers in a wet washroom. WHY CHOOSE LED LAMPS1. LED lamps use less power (watts) per unit of light generated (lumens). A good LED lamp can generate twice as many lumens per watt as a CFL- less greenhouse gas emissions from power plants- lower electric bills2. LED lamps last much longer than CFLs, as much as 10x longer (40,000 hrs vs 5,000 hrs)- fewer spent lamps in the landfill- less frequent lamp purchasing/changing, especially important for hard-to-reach lamp locations3. LED lamps generate less heat than CFLs- decreased load on Air Conditioning systems- reduced danger of burns from touching lamps- reduced fire hazards4. LED lamps are RoHS compliant, meaning that they have no hazardous substances (lead, cadmium, mercury, etc). CFLs on the other hand all have 1mg-5mg of Mercury (even more in tubular fluorescent lamps). Not properly disposing of spent CFLs results in Mercury making its way into the environment, with serious consequences.- virtually no risk of environmental contamination- no risk of personal exposure to hazardous materials5. LED lamps tend not to have unpredictable failure modes- virtually no risk of fire/smoke/ordour6. LED lamps emit no Infrared or Ultraviolet radiation- no personal exposure to cell damaging Ultraviolet radiation - artwork and other sensitive items are not degraded as a result of exposure to Ultraviolet radiation7. LED lamps are not sensitive to frequent power cycling- no concern about how often you turn on/off your lights8. LED lamps have better control over the direction in which their light is emitted- less wasted light9. LED lamps turn on instantly (reaching full brightness immediately). CFLs tend to have a warm-up period which may range from a few seconds to over a minute.- no wasted time or electricity10. LED lamps can be used in colder temperatures than CFLs. Most CFLs will not turn on or will only emit very low levels of light in the cold (near freezing)- effective in cold temperatures11. Because they are made of Perspex material, LED tubes are very robust and do not break easily whereas fluorescent tubes or CFLs are very fragile

Vodacom ran a successful Pilot of Desert™ Cube at their VodaWorld campus in Midrand for 8 weeks from January to March 2011. A total of 6 urinals in their engineering block was run completely waterless during this period.
Desert™ Cube - Reference 4
Ogilvy's Lodge and Conference Centre in Midrand ran all their 7 urinals on Desert™ Cube for 2 months from April to beginning of June 2010. Water supply to the urinals was completely shut down and despite the heavy use of the facility by restaurent and bar patrons, the pilot was very successful.
