My name is Miss Sallie Kamps. I grew up in the little village of Hilbert, Wisconsin just east of Appleton. I attended a Lutheran grade school and the public high school there. From as far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I was involved in youth group all through high school and that was a big influence on why I became a parochial teacher. I attended Concordia, River Forest, IL and graduated from there 30 years ago. God chose to place me many hours from my family and Called me to my first teaching position in Nokomis, Illinois where I taught grades 1 - 4 (all in one classroom) and coached cheerleading and track and was the youth director/leader. In 1988, God led me to accept my Calling as third grade teacher here at Trinity and that's where I've been ever since. I have also enjoyed helping out with the youth group ever since arriving here.
My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28 and it has helped me through many-a rough time. I LOVE chocolate, flowers, and reading for pleasure (not necessarily in that order). My favorite color is blue and favorite subject is Math. My favorite ice cream flavor, without a doubt, is butter pecan or homemade vanilla. My favorite fruit would be canteloupe or raspberries. I also enjoy spending time in a cabin with a fire in the fireplace or taking long quiet walks at Camp Luther. I feel that my best Fruit of the Spirit would be patience. I enjoy taking the time to help students learn.
I have enjoyed my time here at Trinity and the many friends I have made. I thank the Lord every day for each and every one of you and I pray for His continued blessing on this school year. I ask that you each do the same.
