Hello! I'm Ricardo, I'm portuguese, I was born in a calm city in the North of Lisbon and I'm 19 years old.
I have always had a big passion for languages, maybe because I travelled a lot when I was younger. I have always had good marks in Portuguese and everything related to the human being: Filosophy, History, English, French...
My skills in Portuguese are very advanced. I'm not just a native speaker, I have won some medals in Grammar Contests, I had a 5 (out of 5) in the National Exam of Portuguese in the 9th grade and I had 173 (out of 200) in the National Exam of Portuguese in the end of my secondary school. It was not a brilliant mark, but it was the best in my school!
I am studying in Lisbon, in the Catholic University and I have a frequent contact with foreign people.
About my skills in foreign languages, I have done a FCE Exam by ESOL - Cambridge University and I have achieved a B2 in French by the Alliance Française. I also have very good skills in Spanish, first of all, because Portugal is close to Spain, and finally because I used to watch Spanish cartoons.
I have also played the piano for 13 years, I write stories, I have already started teaching Portuguese to foreigners and I hope you are interested!

As you know, I am at university in Lisbon, at the moment so I don't have a big flexibility in timetables. However, I think the most suitable option for you, would be 2 hours per week.
Like that, we could have a better and solid timetable, you will learn faster because you will be the whole week in touch with the language, assuring you a better way of learning.
The price of each hour is established with each student, according to several factors. Feel free to ask for trial classes, don't worry about that at all!
You won't be in trouble learning Portuguese! You just have to know one of these languages to communicate. I have fluent speech in any of these:
- English
- French
- Spanish
Another advantage that you will have is the fact that I have got a cell phone that lets me check my emails. So you won't wait more than a few hours to get an answer, a correction, whatever you need from me.
I'm young, so I know the best methods to explain and teach you portuguese and I don't use old-fashioned ones. I am able to prepare you for an International Portuguese Exam in Lisbon, so if you are interested in doing one, don't hesitate to come see me! It doesn't matter what your level is.
Once you start learning, you will notice that I have a black notebook where I have written all your classes. In the beginning, you will learn mainly Grammar. I believe that learning Grammar first will give you the needed tools to analyse texts, to understand phonetic and other difficult issues! I have a webcam and a microphone, which will let you improve your pronounciation!
To make sure you understand the subject, you will have homework and lots of exercises to practice what you have just learned. Furthermore, every 10 chapters are evaluated in the end with a written exam. I create the exam myself, sometimes I can take some exercises from the biggest institute of portuguese language: Instituto Camões.
To make things easier for you, I have made a online folder where I put vocabulary files, homework, your exams, in short, everything you need to succeed! Corrections, doubts will be fast answered. Any other doubt, contact me!
