Ephesians 5.25-27
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
If you are a teenager, radiant youth is for you. We are a community of friends who desire to grow in our knowledge of God. We are a collection of individuals who seek to honor God with our talents and abilities. And more than anything, we are a family who care and look out for each other as we grow and become the people God wants us to be. We believe that one day we will be reunited with our Savior, and that He gave everything in order to make that happen. Therefore we choose to honor Him with our words, thoughts and actions. And we like to have fun along the way! If that sounds like something you may be interested in, we'd love for you to come join us on a Wednesday night. See you soon!
Imagine that you are a bride-to-be. Now imagine that your future father-in-law is a very important man. You really want to impress him and get on his good side. He does not seem to mind introducing you to people as his daughter-in-law, but whenever he does the introduction he uses the same adjective to describe you. Every single time, the exact same word. How much weight would you put into that word? Do you think it would be important to you what word he chose?
We (the Church) are the future bride of Christ. Our future father-in-law is quite important (he is God, after all!). And he loves talking about how we will one day join his family. But in all of Scripture, there is only one time that he uses an adjective to describe the Church. It is right here, in Ephesians 5:27, and the adjective is RADIANT. We will one day be joined with Christ, and he gave everything in order to make us his radiant bride. We at Radiant Youth put a lot of weight in those words, and they form the foundation for everything we do as a youth group.

One of the most important commands that Jesus ever gave his followers was to pray for missionaries. These people go all over the world spreading the Good News about Jesus and what he did for us. They face all kinds of challenges and obstacles, ranging from hostile villagers to poverty, disease to homesickness. They need our prayers more than anything else. Let us not give up praying for our brothers and sisters around the world!
We can't all go. But we can help those who do. We must never forget to pray for our missionaries, but we can also help them financially. Missionaries need food and clothing, supplies, sound equipment and transportation. All of this costs money, and even teenagers can help in this area. It does not matter how much or little you are able to give. What does matter is that we learn to be responsible with the resources God has blessed us with. That includes giving to missions.
Yes, you! Do you want to go on a missions trip with us? Plans are in the works for radiant youth to go in the summer of 2013. If you would like to be a part of a life-changing experience, I highly encourage you to prayerfully consider going on this trip. Missions trips aren't always easy, and they definitely aren't cheap. But you will be hard-pressed to find an experience that will transform you the way a missions trip will.
