Our Beliefs (1)
ABOUT THE CREATOR
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three personalities are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1,26,27;3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
God is Jesus Christ, the incarnate who came to live as man. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5,14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
God is the Holy Spirit. He is co-equal with the Father and Jesus Christ. He is alive and at work in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He can provide each Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives believers spiritual gifts. We hold to subsequent powerful experiences with the Holy Spirit distinctive from the salvation experience. We believe that all of the New Testament gifts of the Spirit are as true today as they were when the New Testament was written. As Christians we seek to live under His gracious control and in His power daily. The Holy Spirit can move uniquely and powerfully if allowed .
2 Corinthians 3:16; John 16:7-13, 14:16-18; Acts 1: 8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18
Rob and Bev Morris
Pastor Rob is our lead pastor, and Bev is our administrator and the pastor to women. They, along with a group of area believers, began The River in the summer of 2003. Pastor Rob has been in ministry for over 30 years, and Bev for nearly 30. God is good!
Rob and Bev invite you to "Dive Into The River" and experience the goodness of God!
Rob was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in East Texas. Coming to Christ at an early age, Rob felt the call of the Lord as a youth. He surrendered to the ministry during his senior year in High School.
Rob received his Bachelors degree in music from East Texas Baptist University in May of 1980. He has served nine churches in Texas since that time.
In June of 2003 Rob, along with his wife Bev, and some dear friends Bob Shirley as Co-Pastor/Youth Pastor, Tracy and Nathan Gray as Childrens Pastors , Abigail Corona as Preschool Pastor, Janice Mattix as our Nursery Pastor and Nancy Nichols as Music Associate began River Pointe Church.
It is Robs vision that RPC passionately pursue the Lord Jesus Christ in all things and that through that passion for the Lord, we make a massive, eternal impact for Christ in our region of Houston and beyond.
If you are searching for a passionate people after the heart of God, you will find them at River Pointe Church. We invite you to come see, hear and experience the presence of God with us each week. We look forward to meeting you at the River!

Cleve Ingalls, a native Houstonian,
graduated from Southwest Texas
State University now Texas State

Cleve received Christ at the age of 16 while attending First Baptist Church of Grangerland. He immediately took to music and worship. He began to lead worship for Sunday school and perform special music pieces during regular church services.
After graduating high school in 1996; Cleve attended Montgomery College in the Woodlands where he was a worship leader for Campus Crusade for Christ. While attending Southwest Texas State from '98-'02 Cleve was involved in many ministries, including Campus Crusade for Christ, Baptist Student Ministries and Crosstalk. In his junior year, Cleve was a founding member and worship leader of an on campus church called The River. During this time Cleve was also the lead singer of a band called Out Of Place that played at The River as well as many other venues sharing the name of Jesus Christ. After graduating in 2002 Cleve returned to live and work in Houston.
After meeting Pastor Rob Morris at the local Wal-Mart, Cleve was invited to River Pointe Church. After attending a few Sunday's Cleve found a new church home and began to serve in the choir. Shortly after he began to lead worship for the youth and has been doing so ever since. Cleve is the worship leader and lead singer for the band Willowbay which plays at River Pointe Church and aspires to perform at outside venues to spread the name of Jesus Christ. David Coleman
I have lived in the Houston area all but a few years of my life.
Currently I live in Pasadena, TX with my wonderful wife Lori Coleman and our two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Addison. They are truly a blessing from God.
I was saved at the age of nine; led to Christ in my parents' bedroom by my father who has been a pastor for more than thirty years..
I was called to Minister to students eighteen years ago in Houston, Tx.
I spent seventeen years at Forest Oaks Baptist Church before moving to River Pointe Church in Channelview, Tx. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with my brother Blair Montgomery the last few years at Forest Oaks and now at River Pointe.
I am now enjoying the opportunity to work with Cleve Ingalls and our Pastor, Rob Morris.
We are seeing the Lord's work being done every week at The River. I was ordained into the ministry on August 9, 2009 with my father present and taking part in the service. This will be one of the most memorable days of my life.
The Crossing is the name of the Student Ministry at River Pointe Church. We are seeing the Lord's work being done with salvations, baptisms, and new visitors within the group.
I give all the glory to God and continue to ask for his guidance for the group.
Thanks, David
