ABOUT ME
I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a youngster. However, my photography went to a new level while I was living in the Sultanate of Oman.
I had been there since 1995 happily snapping away, but in 2002 I had the opportunity of spending a day with an Omani professional photographer. His input gave me the impetus I needed to raise the standard of my photography.
Additionally, being exposed to the encouragement and constructive criticism of others has had a positive effect. Since 2003 I have been an associate member of the Omani Society for Fine Arts. Experienced members there offered wise counsel and encouraged me to exhibit my images of their beautiful country.
One of the elements I am most inspired by in my photography is the heritage and culture of a country like Oman. There mudbrick houses have mostly been abandoned in favour of new ones made of cement. This provides wonderful opportunities for the photographer to view and browse and record before they pass completely.
These days I live in New Zealand where I continue to pursue my passion for photography. I also continue to inform others of the positive experiences I had while in the Middle East.
