History
Rolling Stone Press was the vision of Atlanta artist and printmaker Wayne Kline. With Rolling Stone Press Kline created a unique place that focused on the mastery of printmaking and over the years hosted some of the finest artists to work in Atlanta.
Established in 1984, the press has published over 150 editions by important artists from the Southeast. In 1995, the creation of a Fine Arts Gallery allowed the studio to exhibit works by local and national printers including artist working in intaglio, relief and screen-printing.
The former director of the press, Wayne Kline, was a master Tamarind printer. The 2005 passing of this beloved individual left a gap in the Atlanta art community, but his spirit is still alive at Rolling Stone press studio and website.
The RSP studio in Atlanta is now home to The Hoots Group, an Environmentally Friendly Home Builder, and also hosts a rotating collection of prints
Wayne's son Andrew, and his wife Heather, now own the RSP collection. Andrew and Heather have donated several exhibits and prints to various organizations. The actual press is now at the University of South Carolina's Art Department. Not only will new talent learn on the press but many new memories will be made with it.
The Levine's Childrens Hospital in Charlotte, NC, along with the United Family Services Organization in Mooresville, NC are the latest to receive donations from The Klines.
