Born in Minnesota, raised in West Los Angeles, Rochelle Carino has the happy bright and proactive down home can-do attitude of the Mid-West combined with the engaging style and creative innovation expected of a cutting edge Los Angelino fashion designer
After studying Fashion Design at Los Angeles Trade Tech and working for high profile fashion companies selling her designs in Beverly Hills boutiques and national retail stores such as Macy's, Rochelle launched her passion project- her own independent label. Comparing her late night sewing sessions to the fairy tale Rumplestiltskin and combining that with her nickname of "Monkey", designer Rochelle Carino created "RumpleMunkeh" in May 2009.
Filled with infectious passion for designing the kind of wares that make EVERY woman feel beautiful, Rochelle is steadily creating her own place in the LA fashion world . RumpleMunkeh is a fashion line with no age limits that stimulates the little girl feeling of playing dress-up, all encompassing in its ethos that every woman deserves to feel beautiful. With the irresistible mix of modern urban chic and the flowing, red carpet ready sophistication of gowns and dresses that could easily fit in the Golden Age of Hollywood, RumpleMunkeh is a unique fashion line hugely attractive to both retailers and consumers with an irresistibly cheeky and playful vibe. Wearing an outfit from RumpleMunkeh doesn't just look fantastic, it feels fun.2009 was a whirlwind of a year for Rochelle. She did 12 Fashion shows including LA Fashion Week. She won the Fashion Front Award in NY , and her line got picked up by boutiques such as Taylrz Joynt in Sherman Oaks and KIN on Sunset Blvd.
Rochelle is also combining fashion and philanthropy, she vows to help "change the world through fashion, one garment at a time." By working with various charities, planning fund raising events and donating a portion of sales each season, Rochelle hopes to increase awareness and bring everyone closer to the world we all hope for. Rochelle also believes that through designs inspired by cultures all over the world and by exuding the positive outlook of the company, people will experience a newfound respect and love for themselves and the world around them.
