"Sic vis pacem, para bellum"
If you want peace, prepare for war.
IN THE BEGINNING...
During the time of Beryl Shard hunters, when companies were hiring employees to farm shards and post them on the Auction Hall, one man recruited two others into a kinship, Shardhuggers. It was a small faction from the kinship in which they’d all been, whose main goal was to uncover patterns of the shard hunters, cut them off ahead of time and mass them for profit of the kin. Sometime later, a feud broke out with a very distasteful female in the main kinship, and those who had become friends and fellows among themselves joined the faction “Shardhuggers.”
Unexpectedly, more and more members noticed the clique's comradery, and began to come over... and before long, friends of friends soon joined. Presently, with a renaming of the kinship to “Mythical,” the kinship is around 75 members strong, all active players, one-third of whom working on maxing out virtues, levels, and high-end content. Always looking for active members, the group is more about good-natured, friendly and helpful people than anything else. So whether it be from The Rift to Helegrod, from The Watcher to Radiance, from Festivals to Furry-footed hobbits... Mythical is there. -- Ashlara

DKP
How it originated
During the days of the original Everquest, when the concept of “raiding” in MMO’s was still fresh, it didn’t take long for players to realize they needed a reasonable way of distributing raid rewards. There were people who were very loyal and gung-ho within their “guild,” who worked especially hard and participated extremely often in raids. Those people may have felt as though they were “getting the shaft”s so to speak, when a “pug” or even a fellow guild member, one who rarely participated, would get the “big rewards” out of a “boss fight” for which they’d been working so relentlessly, particularly on their first run. Something had to be done.
It then was decided that those who participated should earn some sort of credit for their hard work or “points.” In the original EQ, the bosses were dragons. So it only made sense to call the “points” Dragon Kill Points or DKP. Since then, guilds in other games (or kinships, as in LOTRO) have picked up on this system, and because the term DKP had become so well-known, the name stuck. Now even though the “boss” may not be a dragon, many still refer to the point system as DKP.
