SIGMA3 was the first company to acheive Level 3 accreditation of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard. As part of this, the environmental impact of a whole range of activities and working practices is continually evaluated. This includes all use and disposal of paper and plastics, level of risk posed by potential land or water pollution, storage of solvents and other hazardous chemicles, use and disposal of packaging etc.
During the last decade, the company has transformed its policies and procedures towards environmental issues. In 2002, all the waste produced at Sigma 3 was going directly to landfill. By 2007, the company was recycling 90% of its waste, despite an increase in production of almost 100%.

All raw materials are used as efficiently as possible in order to avoid waste. The wood, paper and cardboard used is from sustainably managed forests, minimising the use of natural resources. All wood based waste is recycled, as are the vast majority of plastics.
The MFC board, that is used as a major component in the construction of our kitchen furniture, is manufactured under the Quality Management System ISO 9000: 2000, i.e. environmentally friendly alternatives to imported hardwoods. Also, the MFC products used are manufactured under the FSC chain of custody accreditation scheme, which provides independent accreditation that the wood used is sourced from well managed, sustainable forests.

Cabinets are not flat packed, but assembled at the factory, using 18mm MFC carcases (Melamine Faced Chipboard) with 8mm solid MFC back panels for maximum rigidity. Shelves, hinges and drawers are all designed to take the weight. Base units are on adjustable legs, making them easy to level and preventing penetration of water spillage.
Stringent quality controls are in place so that you can have the highest confidence in the product. Our kitchens are built to last and come with comprehensive warranties.
