365 Autoportraits
January 2009 to January 2010
Falling inlove with photography was one thing, but due to my anxieties I had found myself with a burning need and hunger to take pictures but being too afraid to venture out and actually do it. Until I finally decided to turn the camera on myself.
After almost 4 years of not touching a camera,I took on a small challenge for myself which was huge at the time. To shoot everyday for a month. And I did. I shot random things around my house I was still too afraid to shoot me and only attempted it 3 times during that month.
When that month was over the fact that I did it, that I finally started and finished something, made my hunger for taking pictures even greater. And I've decided to take on a bigger challenge. To shoot myself everyday for a year. I would post those photos online together with a blog entry and the following and support that started to flow into my life was incredibly encouraging.

insignificant
Anything remotely insignificant would cease to exist, immediately.
As a matter of fact insignificance is a human invention, a human perception, a human grasp, a human illusion of our existence and personal achievements, life lessons and how we perceive ourselves our lives our friends and family and so on.
We can walk into a room and feel so insignificant, when in fact, that can only happen when doubt and insecurity rule our darkness.
It is nothing but a mind game. An insecurity that feels way too welcome in our minds and body.
Insignificant to me is an illusion I let rule my life. I walk blinded into its dark and cold home and make room for myself in its lonely corners.
'insignificant' s an ongoing project.
