OUR Philosophy
re + act conceives of an architecture that embodies the strength of our convictions; architecture achieved through concise design and rational planning. We evision the building as a catalyst to its surroundings, promoting change and growth; ultimately capable of reivalizing its community.our rigorous methodology enables us to generate responsive solutions derived from the site's unique combination of historic, cultural and social identities. re+act orchestrates these various elements with the aim of leaving a site better than we found it. By focusing on an architecture that invigorates the senses and activates its site, we can nurture and susatain the environment for future generations.re+act maintains an innovative architectural approach in order to defend and create built environments that are functional and timeless.

Steven Foster, a transfer student from Annandale, Virginia, brings a background of both engineering and architecture to re+act. He has experience in Engineering Mechanics study in addition to his current architectural undertakings. He possesses an A.A.S. degree and Professional Drafting Certificate from Northern Virginia Community College, and expects his B.S. in Architecture from Catholic University in May 2010. He is currently applying to Virginia Tech, Catholic University, the University of Maryland, and Arizona State University to continue study at the graduate level.
Christina Franz transferred from the University of Delaware, where she studied art conservation and art history. She has been attending Catholic University for the past three years. Throughout her studies, she has become interested in the use of materials and how they can shape a space while producing a better built environment. Her interest also includes sacred space and culteral studies and historic preservation. Christina is considering studying either of these concentrations in graduate school.
Brandon Moore has been interested in architecture as a career for as long as he can remember. His time in school has led him to become interested in how architecture is socially responsible. He believes design can be used as a means to produce a better environment for either places that have lost their spirit, or new communities being build.
Siobhan Steen has spent four years at Catholic University in pursuit of earning a B.S. in Architecture. She is interested in social architectural initiatives as well as concise rational design. Siobhan hopes that re+act will be a forum for experimentation that will be the culmination of her architecture education. After her expected graduation in May 2010, Siobhan plans on traveling to China.
Allie Steimel has been attending Catholic for four years. Her main interest is in sustainable design, and she believes that field will become essential for successful architecture in years to come. She also enjoys sacred space and cultural studies, and hopes to pursue that concentration in graduate school.
