Who Could Haven Known?
Who could have known the exquisite difference
Your brief life would make upon mine?
Who could have known a tiny baby
Would show me the beauty of a sunrise,
Or the wonder of a rainbow or the pain of a tear?
Who could have known an innocent child
Would take away my fear of death,
And point me in the direction of Heaven?
Who could have known that you would succeed
Where so many others have failed?
I have chosen from the day you were born to love you;
your memory is mine to embrace.
How adorable you were, and with a spirit full of grace
I held you so gently, cradled next to my heart
I stroked your precious cheek; I loved you right from the start.
I sang you the songs that only a Mother can sing
The prettiest melody, sent from heaven on an Angel’s wing
I sang so purely knowing forever that you are mine
I sang to my baby, my only sunshine .
I remember the cherry blossom tree and how it bloomed
It filled the air with the sweetest perfume.
I watched the snowflakes falling to the ground
With a silent whisper, not making a sound
My sweet little Angel, My precious baby
Your life will never be forgotten
On this earth you were surrounded by love
On the day you were released to the Angels above
I thank you for giving me the chance
Of knowing my Angel at first glance
Thank you for sending the signs of the butterflies
When I see one it brings joyful tears to my eyes
So my little girl sent from Heaven’s door
The one I love, the one I adore
You’ll forever be with me in my heart
The day will come we will never be apart.

Love Me Enough To Let Me Go
Your hearts are breaking - I know, I can tell
Because you're my parents and I know you so well
As hard as this is, there's something I need to say
I don't want to linger, don't beg me to stay
Keeping me here only gets in my way
Prevents me from being where I need to be
Out of this body and finally pain free.
Living with God is my ultimate goal
By taking me home He is making me whole
The only thing holding me back, Mom and Dad,
Is thinking of you and the good times we had.
You fought for me when no one else could,
Refused to give up when others told you, you should
You packed a whole lifetime of love in (two) years
Gave me strength to handle all of my fears
Showered me with courage - you said; "It's a loan"
While secretly hiding tears of your own.
You've done everything I needed.
I couldn't ask for much more
Please love me enough to help me pass through that door.
I know you're sad and it doesn't seem fair
But the time has come to put me in God's care
Since I started the job I was sent here to do
And planted a seed now residing in you.
I'm sure I can trust you to carry my load
Please love me enough...
Enough to let me go.
