First and foremost, a man of devout faith, Progress puts his whole heart, mind and soul into making music that he hopes will do more than entertain but also inspire and enlighten. Resisting the urge to "dumb it down", Progress combines the polish and precision of a master craftsman with the passion and power of a sage teacher, striking a chord with conscious listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
Fueled by the challenge of living as a Christian in the throes of a worldly culture, Progress uses his God-given gifts to shine light in an increasingly dark age. Successfully blending the timeless truths of Holy Scripture with a constantly evolving and growing artistic style, he has been blessed to craft a sound that resonates with audiences around the globe. While many aim to move units, Progress aims to move a movement. The Forward Movement.

The Portrait of My Life
Progress is both a journey, and a destination. It is also an apt moniker for this 20-something Christian hip-hop artist. This Richmond, VA native and veteran of the mic demonstrates his love for God and the mic every time out, evidenced by his crisp delivery, lucent wordplay and thought-provoking lyrical content. Combining the polish and precision of a master craftsman with the passion and power of a sage teacher, Progress strikes a chord with devoted hip-hop listeners and casual music fans of all genres of all ages. A devout man of faith who makes every effort to live out what he testifies to in his music, the self-described "watchman and witness" strives to be and spread light in an increasingly dark age using his God-given ability to put words together.
Discovering his affinity for hip-hop in the later 90's while a teenager, Progress first began making music by recording songs with neighborhood friends after school. A gifted student, his academic pursuits would take him all the way to Miami, Florida. It was here where man who would become Progress developed greatly as a writer and performer and made the seminal decision of his life, becoming a true follower of Christ in 2001.
Since that time, he has steadily honed his craft, continuing to develop artistically in all facets of the game while releasing two albums, 2004's debut "The Forward Movement" and the heralded 2008 follow-up "Works in Progress". He is currently assembling tracks for a planned mixtape release in Spring 2011. as well as looking forward to releasing another full-length album in time.
Progress aims to make music that resonates with audiences around the world as he blends the timeless truths of Holy Scripture with relevant commentary on life and culture. As his name suggest, Progress is continually repenting, refining and growing. Rooted in the Word of God and inspired by a vision of life beyond the trivial and superficial, Progress is a man moving forward in every aspect of life.
