Introduction:
I teach trumpet, French horn and Trombone/baritone and Tuba, all the other instruments listed are taught by other great teachers at our studio. I also teach jazz improvisation/theory and classical theory.
I am an active freelance player and teacher in the Metro Detroit area. I teach all levels in many styles of music (Commercial- Classical), college prep for auditions, etc.

Have also toured with many groups- Bill Gaither Trio, Doc Severinsen, Marie Osmond, Barry Manilow, Regis Philben, Barbra Mandrell, Roy Clark, Lou Rawls, Temptations to name a few.
I work in the Fox Theater, Masonic Temple and Fisher Theater orchestra, Macomb Symphony Orch., Johnny Turdell Big Band, and many others. In addition I work in top 40 bands, brass ensembles, studio recordings for commercials, movie sound tracks, local and national artist.
My Teaching Philosophy:
I will teach you to teach yourself. By helping you understand the concepts and diagnose your own issues; lead you to the answers and solutions. Lessons will fun and motivational and will help you set and achieve your goals. I have many students that entered major universities around the country and are working musicians. My Middle and high schools students consistently earn 1st place ratings in state festival.

Mr. Casteel has had a very distingusted career for more than 35 years, touring the US, Canada and parts of Europe. Currently, he is the trumpet instructor and director of Jazz Studies at Macomb College and the owner of Macomb Music Center & Macomb Area Homeschool Fine Arts Academy (MAHFAA).
Randy holds a Master's degree in Music Education from Wayne State Univ. and also did under grad uate work at Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of Texas and Azusa Pacific Univ.
