Achdus Award
Chaverim Achdus Award 2007
It was definitely a time for all boys who participated to remember. The programme started with a beautiful Friday Night Kumzitz at the home of Shmuel Yosef Davidsohn and Shabbos Lunch on the next day. Motzie Shabbos was the highlight of the Shabbos Achdus.
Over 250 boys attended the Melave Malka that will long remained etched in our memories. We were privileged to have Shloime Gertner singing accompanied by Eli Ollech on the keyboard and Yossi Niggun with his guitar. The exceptional guest speaker, Rav Avrohom Pesach Kamionka, delivered a powerful drosho on the story of the Rambam, who could barely master the aleph-beis at 18 years of age, before embarking on a remarkable life as a talmid chochom and physician, the like of which the world has never seen.
Introducing the Achdus Awards, Rabbi Chaim Michoel Biberfeld, spoke about how appropriate it was to do it in memory of Avrohom Dov Patashnik. Shmuel Yosef, had the audience screaming with anticipation on the build-up to announcing this years Achdus Award winners.
To the thunderous applause of all present, Dovi Brunner from Golders Green and Shui Salzman from Manchester were announced as the winners of the Zichron Avrohom Dov Achdus Award. They were brought to stage and presented with their certificates and a newly released version of the Mishna Berura with vowels.
The evening ended of with benching being sold for £140 to the Kollel Erev at Crowland Road who presented it to their Rov Rabbi Biberfeld.
