Trying to find our own view on the theme of advanced cloning inspired us to create this photo series which, with a certain kind of exaggeration, points out the challenge of human co-existence within a still-developing society. The first stage of the project deals with an entertaining view on test prototypes of clones of famous and wealthy people. However, in the second stage of the project questions emerge about the relationship between a human original and his clone. The confrontation of a clone and its originals co-existence with a child and a mothers (fathers) co-existence opens up the issue of the degree to which a man is mature enough to accept himself as his own replacement; to accept his own clone in the personal environment of relationships which he has been building for a long time; possibly even to face the desire to maintain his private identity and uniqueness. As the replacement individuals become adults, they find themselves in an inhospitable land, searching for their own history. They are fearful, confused, sometimes full of hope, but ultimately disappointed again.

Ficticious offspring of possible parents speak to you from these photographs. Individuals are created through connecting traits that are reflected in their mother´s and father´s faces. They try to materialize themselves by looking directly into your eyes and demand their existence by attacking your subconscious. Being husband and wife we´ve attempted to construct a later image of our new born baby daughter, thus we´ve created a standard for comparison of the ficticious children in twenty years time.

All they can see is darkness. All their visual images come from haptic, audio and olfactory experiences. Their visual functions are markedly diminished. However, they are not reduced to zero. We are talking about the blind; people who live around us. We are talking about people who deal with a huge handicap. Although they often say, "I am glad to see you", the reality is that they have lost their eyesight. Even if we look for ways to make their lives easier and try to integrate them into society by sophisticated means, we cannot make their problem disappear entirely.

In the photos they are absolutely exposed, and have no need to detract from their fate. They speak about what they have had to give up and what they try not to think about. We cant often see their eyes talk, yet we understand their eyes can surely be pretty talkative.

Since 2002, when a flood swept across Dobrichovice, wild and lush natural vegetation has been thriving along the banks of the river. A fascinating tangle

of nettles, broken trees and high grass create a curious piece of land in the middle

of this small town in the Czech Republic. Its charm has been a source

of inspiration as well as a place of rest for us.

In the next few years, an asphalt road is going to border the river bank, which will disrupt the places identity. At this point in time, a petition by the citizens

of Dobrichovice is under discussion and it will be interesting to see the outcome. Lobbying and corruption will be a major, global problem of the future. Revenue from construction contracts will probably erase many beautiful places on earth, despite clear opposition from native populations. The Riverside Paradise series
