Bio
Rachel Corrales has always had the dream to share her passion for music with the world. Having entertained audiences all over Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, she hopes to grow in her talents, share her music and become an artist who inspires others as her musical influences inspire her. Growing up, she was surrounded by music from artists her mother listened to such as, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Journey and Michael Jackson. Today, she lists Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Carrie Underwood, Corinne Bailey Rae, Adele and Kelly Clarkson as her contemporary musical influences. Rachel is a Pop and R & B singer and began singing at an early age by joining school choirs and plays, and developed her talent simply by mimicking what she heard on the radio and television. It wasnt until the age of 11 when she auditioned for a music class that she realized she had a musical gift after gaining recognition from her teachers and peers. During high school, Rachel continued to sing in choirs and joined her friends to win several choir competitions around California. Her final performance in high school was for the Chamber Choirs Spring Concert where she chose On My Own from Les Misérables as her senior song. After graduating from high school, the intensity of Rachel's fervor to become a singer only grew and opportunities started presenting themselves. During her sophomore year at UC Santa Barbara, she joined the campus' all-female a cappella group, VocalMotion, and performed at multiple campus events and Santa Barbara county functions throughout her college years. Her solo repertoire consists of Stacie Orrico's Stuck, Christina Aguilera's Come On Over, India Arie's Heart Of The Matter and Kiss The Girl from Disney's The Little Mermaid. She was also chosen by her peers to sing the opening solo for their Sister Act II rendition of Joyful Joyful that UCSB's a cappella groups performed at their joint Spring Concert in 2008. Respected as a singer on campus, she was often asked to perform the National Anthem at cultural shows and sporting events and had the opportunity to direct the Pilipino Cultural Night choir for two years in a row. She was also granted the honor of singing the National Anthem at her graduation ceremony. In the summer of 2008, Rachel started posting her singing videos on YouTube and has gained popularity and recognition on the web, where her fan base grows daily. She lives in Los Angeles and is writing and making music.
