Race McCloud is the second-worst private eye in Westside City, but his 15 year-old niece Cookie is pulling top grades in the training division of the elite Project: Perfect government task force that employs her parents and Race's other two siblings. When the rest of the family goes missing, Race and Cookie must team up to search for them in a globe-spanning journey, over the course of which they encounter a masked vigilante, vampires, werewolves, "Perfect" Troopers and their grizzled commander, a reborn jungle queen, super computers, an answering machine with a penchant for insults, and much more.
